Creating Attributes

Attributes can be set up the Setup menu or from a Document Type record.

  1. From the SmartSolve Portal Page, click the Home tab.
  2. In the Setup and Policy section, click Setup.
  3. In the Document Management section, click Attribute.
    Result: The Document Attribute list window is displayed.
  4. At the top of the page, click Action > Add.
    Result: The Document Attribute entry window is displayed.
  5. Enter information in the following fields:
Field Description

Attribute Type

Enter the name of the attribute type, such as Supplier.

Value

Enter an attribute value, such as ACME.

Description

Enter a description of the attribute.

Look Up

Click the drop down arrow and select the look up option.

  • None - This allows the end user to later enter a value for the attribute from the Document record Attributes link.
  • Org Unit - If this option is selected, the end user will later need to zoom from the attribute's Value field to select the organization unit that will be added as the attribute.
  • Product - If this option is selected, the end user will later need to zoom from the attribute's Value field to select the Product Line or Part that will be added as the attribute.
  • Process - If this option is selected, the end user will later need to zoom from the attribute's Value field to select the Standard Operation or Operation that will be added as the attribute.
  • Plant Area - If this option is selected, the end user will later need to zoom from the attribute's Value field to select the Plant Area that will be added as the attribute.

Transfer

Check the Transfer checkbox to allow transfer of the attribute.

NOTE: If this option is checked in the document type, then the attribute will transfer to all documents created under that document type.

  1. Click the Save button.
    Result: The new attribute has been added and the Document Attribute list window is displayed.
